The Basics –

What Is Homeopathy?

Homeopathy is based on the principle of “like cures like.” This means a substance that causes symptoms in a healthy person can be used in very small amounts to treat similar symptoms in a sick person. These substances are diluted and shaken in a special way to activate their healing properties.

1796 – The Spark

German physician Dr. Samuel Hahnemann publishes his first paper on the principle of “like cures like” — the foundation of homeopathy.

1810 – The Organon Is Born

Hahnemann writes “The Organon of the Healing Art”, laying down the principles of homeopathy. It becomes the main reference for homeopathic practice worldwide.

1830s – Growing in Europe

Homeopathy spreads across Europe. Clinics open in Germany, France, and the UK. Royal families begin using it, boosting its reputation.

1840s – Crosses to America

Homeopathy gains popularity in the U.S., with over 100 homeopathic hospitals, colleges, and pharmacies established within 50 years.

Late 1800s – Golden Era

Homeopathy is officially recognized and widely practiced. Influential figures like Gandhi and literary legends like Charles Dickens speak of its benefits.

20th Century – Modernization

Despite a decline during the rise of pharmaceuticals, homeopathy endures — especially in India, where it becomes a major branch of medicine.

2000s – Global Recognition

Used in 80+ countries and integrated into public health systems in India, Brazil, Switzerland, and more. Homeopathy enters the digital era with online pharmacies, teleconsultations, and global communities.

Today — Homeopathy for the Modern World

With increasing interest in natural, sustainable healing, homeopathy is more relevant than ever. From tech-savvy millennials to wellness-conscious parents, people across the world are rediscovering its timeless value
